Coress Donate

Why Donate?

1. CORESS is a charity and relies solely on the generous support and donations of individuals and organisations. We do not receive financial support from the NHS or other Government departments.

2. CORESS needs funding to continue to:

  • Analyse confidential reports of minor mistakes, mishaps and near-miss events in surgery and to extract the lessons from these incidents.
  • To disseminate that learning through the surgical literature to reach those clinicians who are best placed to use these lessons in the interests of patient safety.
  • To place emphasis on the importance of Human Factors in surgical practice and to improve surgical outcomes.

3. CORESS aims to improve safety in surgery and to raise standards so that safety procedures are as vigorous as those in the aviation industry. CORESS’s confidential reporting system was developed to mirror CHIRP, the independent confidential reporting system for aviation. Both systems are complimentary to other mandatory reporting systems.
