Mr Andrew Day is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in Redhill since 2015. He specialises in the management of rectal cancer and is the lead for the newly formed robotic programme at the trust. He trained at St. George’s Hospital Medical School graduating in 2000. He undertook his surgical training on the South West Thames surgical rotation during which he was a research fellow at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit in Guildford. During his tenure at Guildford he obtained an MD looking at various aspects of the stress response following laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He completed his surgical training with an Ethicon Laparoscopic fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital before taking up his consultant post in Redhill. He has sat on the council of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of GB&I for the last four years.
