Consultant General Surgeon, Fife, Scotland and RCPSG Council Member

John Robertson is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon working in NHS Fife. John qualified from Glasgow University in 2001 with MB ChB and BSc Hons. During his surgical training, John undertook a MD in UCL graduating in 2008. Appointed as a Consultant in Fife in 2015, John has a busy clinical colorectal practice and has recently completed the Colorectal Robotic Training Program with European Society of Coloproctology. John is Cancer Lead for Surgery in NHS Fife and is the local colorectal lead working closely with the Scottish Cancer Network. John has previously been Clinical Governance lead and involved regularly in adverse event reviews. John is very keen to teach surgical trainees and medical students. John is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Edinburgh and participates as faculty for post graduate courses such as ATLS (Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh) and EAES Minimally Invasive Colorectal Course (Ninewells Hospital, Dundee).

John has been a local Regional Advisor for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow for several years and has been involved in organising events for both doctors and medical students. John is now a member of RCPSG council as the East of Scotland Councillor and is actively involved in ongoing College projects.
